PRENATAL COUNSELING
1 hour
Private consultations are available for parents who may have a higher likelihood of experiencing lactation challenges or who have faced breastfeeding difficulties in the past. These visits aim to provide personalized support for successful lactation and breastfeeding. The consultations address potential challenges and provide an individualized plan for the lactating parent to ensure successful breastfeeding.

INITIAL
POSTPARTUM
CONSULTATION
1.5-2 hours
Private lactation consultations are available for breastfeeding parents and their partners who are experiencing feeding challenges. During a postpartum consultation, the strength and range of motion of the baby's suck are evaluated and the breastfeeding position and latch are assessed. A customized plan of care is provided for the breastfeeding parent and baby to address any issues and ensure successful breastfeeding.

POST PARTUM
Follow Up Visits
1-1.5hrs
We encourage you to make a follow up appointment if you would like to revise your plan of care or if there have been any changes. Most insurance companies allow up to 6 covered visits so its a good way to keep on track! Please check with your insurance prior to making an appointment.

BOTTLE FEEDING
1 hour
A private consultation for bottle feeding is recommended at 3-5 weeks postpartum to introduce bottle feeding at an ideal time. This consultation is for breastfeeding parents who want to learn the best method to introduce bottles/formula, handle bottle refusal, and develop a feeding plan that includes bottles while protecting the nursing parent's milk supply. During the consultation, I provide advice on when and how to pump and introduce a bottle while protecting breastfeeding. I also give tips for dealing with fussiness or difficulties transferring milk. A customized plan of care is provided to the breastfeeding parent including recommendations for bottle techniques and tips to incorporate bottles while protecting the milk supply.

PUMPING/Flange Fitting or Going Back to Work
1 hour
This consultation is available for nursing parents who want to increase their milk supply, introduce a bottle, or will be separated from their baby. This session includes flange fittings, pump settings review, and tips to maintain milk supply when pumping. During the consultation the nursing parent's pumping situation is assessed and a flange fitting is done to ensure comfortable and efficient pumping. The use of personal pump and different settings are reviewed, along with tips to protect milk supply by fully draining the breasts. A customized plan of care is provided, which may include recommendations on when and how long to pump, as well as safe storage and feeding of pumped milk to the baby.

WEANING
1 hour
Before weaning a baby from nursing or pumping, it is recommended that the nursing parent have a consultation to discuss their individual family situation. The timing of weaning is not age specific and varies from family to family. The consultation is tailored to the nursing parent's desired weaning timeline. The appointment covers ways to help the child transition to fewer breastfeeding sessions or the parent to transition to fewer pumping sessions, as well as safe methods to reduce milk supply. During the consultation, I review the parent's weaning goals and timeline, gentle weaning strategies, ways to help the child through the transition, and techniques to prevent breast infections and safely decrease milk supply. A personalized plan of care will be created.
